About Core Prep

Meet our Highly Skilled Team

Core Prep Academy was founded in 2015 with just eight student athletes. We are dedicated to inspiring young athletes in the Greater Los Angeles, inner city and surrounding areas to develop life skills through sports training, workshops and impact programs. After 5 years the program has now serviced over 175 student athletes in three different sports: basketball, football, and baseball. Past alumni and trainees have included top NCAA athletes and current High School All Americans. Graduates attend many of the most notable universities in the nation, including UCLA, LMU, Kentucky, TCU, and Penn. The flagship program was founded on the campus of Heritage Christian School in Northridge, CA and is now servicing basketball, football, baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball.

What sets Core Prep apart

Our education is based on three pillars: School, Sports and Life Skills. Along with strength and sports-based training, our Life Skills program gives student athletes an edge above the rest with training in leadership, life skills and financial literacy. Together, these forge athletes who are smart, dedicated and prepared to sustain their successes throughout their college and adult life.

Kyle Lindsted 

Kyle Lindsted is a proven leader with unmatched passion for all things basketball, developing players of all levels. Some notable NBA players that Kyle has helped develop are Buddy Hield, Fred Van Fleet, and Landry Shamet.

Kyle was also the Assistant Men's coach at University of Minnesota where he is involved in all aspects of the program. 

Prior to this role at Minnesota, Kyle was the assistant men's coach at Wichita State University for 3 seasons. While there, the team made 3 appearances in the NCAA tournament, and were 2 time Missouri Valley Conference Champions. 

With Coach Kyle Lindsted at the helm, Sunrise Christian Academy grew into a nationally ranked program,  that now holds a  3 state titles and a NACA national championship. 

Brian Glover

Strength and Conditioning coach Brian Glover, is the founder and President of a 501 c3 named Athletes Representing the Kingdom, Inc (ARK). After high school, he attended McPherson College in McPherson Kansas, studying Psychology and played corner and safety. Brian then attended Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas where he continued to study Psychology and Social Work and played corner. 

Brian has worked with kids of all ages in some capacity through social work, education, and volunteering for over 10 years. 

Currently he teaches and coaches football at Sunrise Christian Academy. 

Spencer Dexter 

Coach Spencer is originally from Michigan where he played varsity basketball at Potterville High School, where he received all  district honors in 2013. Following high school, he obtained a Sport Management degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. 

Currently, Spencer is entering his fourth season at Sunrise Christian Academy as an Assistant Coach on the SCA Elite Men's Basketball Coach. Prior to that, he spent two years at Charlotte High School as the Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach.
